Confession 1: I am a Trekkie.

Confession 2: I ship Kirk/Spock. The whole "T'hy'la" thing, in my opinion, sort of renders any arguments to the contrary moot.

Confession 3: Bones is my favorite. XD

Confession 4: I fangirl the Bones and Spock Vitriolic Best Buds relationship far more than the K/S romantic one.

So I wrote some fic. Some of it's old and some of it's new, and none of it's long.

The first fic is from "City on the Edge of Forever."

Here we go! :D

-------

He stepped outside, froze, shouted, and suddenly had his arms full of Jim, and – what the hell, was Spock trying to hug him?

Then the captain was grinning at him, and the vulcan was shaking his hand and blushing green, and then didn't that truck-driver see her–?

-------

The next one is from The Empath.

-------

Spock's hand was on the side of his face, and McCoy wanted to shout at him to break the contact - his mind wasn't anything a touch telepath wanted to get mixed up in just then. But he couldn't find the energy to raise his voice.

He realized that Spock was relaying a sense of calm through the touch.

"You've got a good bedside manner, Spock."

But there was something else under the quiet serenity.

Before slipping into unconsciousness, McCoy recognized worry, fear, and grief - and knew that Spock should have been more than capable of concealing them from him.

"You were letting me win."

Spock looked up. "Has it ever occurred to you that the ship's surgeon should spend more time in sickbay than on the bridge, Doctor?"

"Don't change the subject. You were letting me win. Before I died. You were letting me know I was right."

"I'm sure I don't know what you mean."

McCoy crossed his arms. "Pointy-eared bastard. I suppose a thank-you would only get me a raised eyebrow."

"I have work to attend to, Doctor McCoy."

-------

I stole one of the prompt sets from 1sentence  ... SHHH.

1. Motion
New recruits tended to stumble a bit upon beaming down to a planet for the first time - most people didn't notice the motion of the ship until it was suddenly absent.

2. Cool
The temperature control was broken, and McCoy couldn't stifle his laughter at the sight of Spock in a turtleneck.

3. Young
"I'm too old for this," Bones muttered, ducking behind a wall to avoid the shots.

4. Last
The seal should have held for eight hours - Scotty turned it into twelve.

5. Wrong
When McCoy finally told Spock about the forced mind-meld that had taken place in the alternate universe, Spock told him that he could repair the emotional and mental damage if McCoy allowed him - Spock was disgusted and infuriated at the careless way his evil counterpart had flung the contents of the doctor's mind about as he searched for the information he needed: no wonder McCoy had been avoiding him.

6. Gentle
Kirk and Bones exchanged amused looks as Spock absent-mindedly continued stroking the fur of the feline in his arms.

7. One
"Either you let us all go, or all three of us stay."

8. Thousand
"Mr. Spock, I'm starting to suspect you of completely making up some of these odds you give me..."

9. King
Every king had a castle - Jim Kirk's just happened to fly.

10. Learn
NOMAD's mindwipe turned out, to everone's relief, to be temporary - Uhura awoke one morning in the medical bay, extremely confused and wanting to know why there were mathbooks and children's stories stacked beside her bed.

11. Blur
Kirk was something of an expert on blurring the line between "what my superiors have ordered" and "what I think is the right thing to do."

12. Wait
"Transporter room just beamed up five persons -" - the seconds feel like years, and then finally - "- alive and well!"

13. Change
The change is subtle, but there - they stand a bit closer together, hold eye contact a bit longer, smile at one another a bit more often -, and Bones wonders when the two of them are going to figure it out.

14. Command
"Don't you dare get yourself killed, Jim - I think Spock would sooner follow you than have to be in charge again, and I'd sooner follow you than listen to him."

15. Hold
They reboard the Enterprise soon after the vians depart with Gem - but not before Jim subjects Bones to a crushing bear hug.

16. Need
"I don't know why he needs the concrete, he just does - he bit my head off for asking, so it must be important."

17. Vision
McCoy decided that when he found either himself or Spock at death's door, he might consider telling the vulcan how terrible he'd felt after causing him to go temporarily blind.

18. Attention
"I don't care how unharmed you think you are; you need medical attention!"

19. Soul
Spock would argue for ten minutes with the doctor about exactly how human he was, and then prove himself wrong by looking at Jim.

20. Picture
Kirk smiled sadly when he spotted the object in McCoy's quarters - a stick figure drawing of a little girl and a man with a stethoscope, signed Joanna McCoy, age 5 and 1/2.

21. Fool
Kirk learned early on that one of the required assets of a starship captain was the ability to suffer fools gracefully - or at least without committing murder.

22. Mad
"You know, Scotty, the phrase "just crazy enough to work" gets tossed around a lot..."

23. Child
A lesser man would have retired to his quarters to mourn his brother and leave the child to be looked after by Bones or another doctor - James T. Kirk was many things, but he could never be referred to as a lesser man: he spent the next five hours with his nephew before McCoy finally ordered him to get some sleep.

24. Now
"Attack on the count of -"  - wow, that creature was fast -  " - nevermind; fire!"

25. Shadow
After a week of repairing the engines following an unexpected catastrophe, the shadows under Scotty's eyes were dark enough to make him look like he'd been in a fight - Kirk and McCoy both ordered him to sleep for the next two days.

26. Goodbye
Spock's departure for Starfleet was one of the few times Sarek did not begrudge him for showing emotion - he looked the other way as their son returned Amanda's embrace.

27. Hide
"Your Earth holidays make little sense, Captain - there is no logical reason for a rabbit to go about hiding eggs."

28. Fortune
The Enterprise survived that five-year mission running on a good captain, a brilliant engineer and a whole lot of luck.

29. Safe
Sometimes it seemed absurd, the fact that he felt the safest inside a hunk of metal hurtling through space - Kirk tried not to think about it too often.

30. Ghost
"If I die first, Spock, I'm coming back and haunting you."

31. Book
At times, he felt like he was stuck on a shelf between two bookends - he usually didn't mind.

32. Eye
Scotty sighed, dragging Chekov to his feet at the bottom of the stairwell and observing the bruising already forming around one eye - that was the last time he gave the Russian scotch...

33. Never
"If I never see another Swastika again, it'll be too damn soon."

34. Sing
Uhura didn't sing for weeks after coming back to herself following the NOMAD incident...

35. Sudden
...Then one day Scotty started whistling a tune she knew, and she found her voice again - the engineer grinned at her across the bridge.

36. Stop
"I know we've come across several - and I do mean several - similar situations, but - a planet exactly like the Earth except that they still put "stop" at the end of messages - really?"

37. Time
Five years wasn't nearly long enough, for anyone involved.

38. Wash
"Captain, two men have just appeared down here in the engine room, out of nowhere - one of 'em's asking for tea and the other's babbling about someone named Eddie and some sort of wash."

39. Torn
Breaking the rules of the game would undoubtedly result in severe punishment or at least imprisonment, but if he did not interfere it was likely the doctor would die - across the arena, McCoy fell, throwing his shield up in front of him, and Spock made his decision quite easily.

40. History
"Mr. Spock - we've had three World Wars, in thousands of years - how many vulcans killed one another before you came up with your blasted logic?"

41. Bother
"The ticking seems to be coming from an explosive device hidden somewhere in the pipework, Captain."

43. God
His hands were covered in green and red blood, Jim wasn't breathing and Spock wasn't moving, and Bones was sure he'd never said so many prayers before in his life.

44. Wall
"Disciplines my foot - they're called emotional walls, Spock, and we humans find them distinctly unhealthy."

45. Naked
He hadn't had this much trouble keeping his emotions in check since early childhood; Spock stumbled into the empty meeting room, thoughts racing, and tried to clear his mind - knowing the disease wouldn't let him.

46. Drive
"Captain, now he's talking about improbability and sofas - I think you'd better send Doctor McCoy down."

47. Harm
"I don't care how religious they are, Bones; actually proclaiming yourself Archangel Gabriel would not be a 'harmless joke.'"

48. Precious
"They're not really calling that 'unobtainium,' are they?"

49. Hunger
"Just once I'd like a meal that wasn't fooling every part of my brain to get me to like it."

50. Believe
"Of all the - Santa Claus was not invented in Russia!"
